My wife Melissa and I moved from Houston to Sandisfield in 2015. Melissa's Berkshire roots run deep, so after visiting her family's New Marlborough farm for years, we knew we wanted to settle here.

A little about my education and professional background - I have a master's degree in electrical engineering and worked for NASA at the Johnson Space Center for 35 years, beginning as an intern and ending as a senior technical leader.

My education and professional experience honed my strategic thinking and leadership skills. While at NASA, I helped solve complex problems such as being one of the senior engineers who supported the investigation of the Challenger explosion. I also have extensive experience creating and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.

Soon after moving to Town, I was asked to chair Sandisfield 's Broadband Committee. For six years, I worked with the governor's office, our neighboring towns, and our Select Boards. I remained on that committee until the last home was connected.

I'm currently chair of the Planning Board where one of our projects is to craft a proposal for new zoning bylaws.

I served on the Green Committee where my skills as an electrical engineer were needed to secure grant funding for solar panels on our Town Hall and DPW garage.

I'm on the Board of Assessors where I helped provide our Select Board with data so that the Board could make the decision to implement a split tax rate which lowered taxes for Sandisfield home owners.

I'm running for Bob Fedell's seat on the Select Board because the Board has made significant progress on several issues and would like to contribute to that positive momentum. I've attended almost every Select Board meeting during Bob's tenure, and agree with The Times statement last month that Bob "served with calm distinction." I'd appreciate your vote so that I can do the same.
