Massachusetts held the primary for its 2026 election on September 1. In Sandisfield, 114 ballots were cast: 87 Democrats, 27 Republicans.

In the U.S. Senate race, on the Democratic side Edward Markey, the incumbent, won with 60 votes over Seth Moulton's 24. Markey won statewide as well and will be the Democratic candidate in the November election.

In Sandisfield, the Republicans put up one candidate, John Deaton, who received 22 votes. He also won statewide.

For Massachusetts Governor, the Republicans favored Michael Minouge with 18 votes over Brian Shortsleee's 10. The Democrats had one choice, incumbent Maura Healey, who received 77 votes.

The only other contested offices were Democratic. For Representative in Congress, Richard Neal won with 50 votes over Jerome Whalen's 36. For Councillor, Tara Jacobs won with 68 votes over Michael Fenton's 8.

The general election will be held the first Tuesday in November, November 3. Early voting is currently underway at Town Hall.
