The Sandisfield Library Food Pantry Food Pantry at the Library is open whenever the library is open. Donations of food items can be dropped at the Sandisfield Library during regular library hours. We want to thank EVERYONE who has graciously donated to our little food pantry. We greatly appreciate all your help and kindness. We especially wish to thank Holloway's Appliances in Simsbury, Connecticut and the Johnson's who generously donated a gently-used refrigerator for the Pantry. The gift is very much appreciated! Thursday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m., the Sandisfield Women's Book Group will meet to discuss "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck. The Pulitzer Prize winning novel depicts a Chinese family's life in the village of Anhwei. It is the first novel in Buck's House of Earth trilogy.
Adult Fiction Delusional by James Patterson and James O. Born. Detective Michael Bennett and former army sniper NYPD officer Rob Trilling travel to Montana to investigate a case that crosses state borders and family lines. Our Noble Selves by Kate Atkinson. A witty and compelling historical novel set in post-World War II Britain. Set in the summer of 1951, Our Noble Selves follows Harry Flynn, a former war correspondent and reporter, as he returns to Britain after a harrowing experience in the Far East, including forced labor on the Burma Railway during the war. Taipei Story by R.F Kuang. The novel follows Lily Chen, a college freshman who arrives in Taipei for an intensive language program, expecting connection and belonging. Instead, fraught classes, social missteps, and her grandfather's sudden death propel her into a messy, funny, and aching quest to piece together family truths. We Chase Shadows by Richard Osman.
