The Sandisfield Women’s Book Group was honored to host author Richard Matturro and his wife at the library on June 18 for a discussion of Professor Matturro’s book, Shepherd. The book is subtitled A Heartwarming Tale of Love & Loss, a compelling story of love lost and regained. It is also “a meditation on grief and its survival, with something about what a good shepherd (in this case a dog) can do to mediate that process.” We enjoyed discussing the writing process with Mr. Matturro. The author was impressed with us too, and offered to return if we decide to discuss any of his other seven books. |

The library now has a hardcover copy of the book for those who haven’t yet read it – or want to read it again. Shepherd is a compelling story of love lost and regained — and also a healing meditation on grief and its survival, with something about what a good shepherd (in this case a dog) can do to mediate that process. |
