Officer Mary Bredenfoerder caught this picture of a great blue heron flying across Twining Pond near East Otis Road in Tolland about two years ago. She often posts her excellent wildlife photos on Connect Sandisfield, Facebook. Sandisfield's and Tolland's herons are among the treasures of our towns, often seen cruising across Twining Pond or up or down the Clam and Buck Rivers.
