October Poem
Harsh

The world will be harsh,
The world will be cold.
The world will be generous,
The world will unfold.

So much of what happens
to us is unfair.
It's easy to blame
and cry out
in despair.

The world will be callous,
The world will be shrill.
The world will be lovely,
The world will be still.

So much of our days are spent
in blind yearning.
It's hard to be present and see
the gifts churning.

Just stop for a moment
Just be
Just be...
Regret and revenge
will be your undoing.

The world is your oyster,
The world is your pie.
The world is your rooster,
The world knows not why.
