The Sandisfield Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that Claire Murray of Town Hill Road has won its 2025 scholarship award of $1,000.

The daughter of Michael and Katie Murray of Town Hill Road, Claire will graduate from Monument Mountain Regional High School with honors. She participated in her school's Healthcare Pathway, the girls' soccer and swim teams, and visited the Dominican Republic volunteering at an orphanage and a school. She will attend Westfield State University with an undecided area of study but an interest in healthcare.

Clair was also awarded our new Ruth J. and Robert D. Freeman Scholarship of $2,500.

The Freeman award is a new scholarship fund that we will be awarding for the next three years to an exceptional graduating senior and Sandisfield resident who will attend an institution of higher learning. This fund is in memory of Ruth and Robert Freeman whose values included conservation of nature, preservation of Sandisfield history, and Sandisfield public service. The fund has been provided by an anonymous donor and has been pledged for at least four years. Seniors for 2026 and beyond are eligible.

Congratulations to Claire and best of luck in the Fall!
