Allan Margraf, 67, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 9, after a brief illness. Allan was the loving husband of Frances "Franky"Ann (Herold) Margraf for 40 wonderful years. Born April 22, 1958 in Great Barrington, Allan was the son of Walter and Mary (Spring) Margraf. Allan worked for many years as an arborist and in his younger years with a painting crew. His enjoyment in life was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and taking day trips with his wife. They enjoyed mini vacations to the beach and camping. He also loved just relaxing at home and spending time with his family. In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by his two beloved daughters, Amber Lynn Margraf of Boston and Amy Margraf of Pittsfield; his close siblings, Barbara Hotchkiss and husband John of Sandisfield, Danny Margraf of Sandisfield, Tina Thompson of Derby, VT, Terry Margraf and husband Tim LaCasse of Colebrook, CT, Jody Margraf and wife Shannon of Otis, MA and Robin Wilcox and husband John of Sandisfield. He also left behind two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law, three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Jimmy Margraf. Funeral services were held on February 1, at The Little Brown Church, followed by a reception at the New Boston Inn, Sandisfield. Montano-Shea Funeral Home of Winsted handled the arrangements.
