Judith Ellen Goldsmith of Plandome Manor, NY, and Sandisfield died on January 14 in her 86th year. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, in 2022. Born in 1939 to Rosalind and Phillip Field in Brooklyn, New York, Judy was raised in Cedarhurst, New York. She met the love of her life when she was 16, her late husband Ted. Judy started her floral design business in Port Washington, New York, during the late 1970s and which she continued into the 1980s. After her career of working with fresh flowers, she created a silk flower business named "Silk Bloomers" to have more free time on the weekends. She was an avid tennis player and enjoyed performing in the Port Singers. Post-retirement, Judy volunteered to teach English for the Speakers of Other Languages program (ESOL) at the Port Washington Public Library where she and Ted were adored by their students and colleagues. Judy and Ted were drawn to the Berkshires, purchasing their home in Sandisfield in 1986. They spent many happy long weekends enjoying the beauty of the land with friends, family and their little dog, Mabel. Judy especially loved her gardens where she grew beautiful flowers that she transformed into spectacular floral arrangements. They were loyal supporters of the Sandisfield Arts Center, where they made many beloved friends. Judy and Ted loved being a part of this welcoming community of creative people. Judy and Ted were the devoted parents of Kenneth Goldsmith (Cheryl Donegan) and Margie Alley (David Hill), and the cherished and adored grandparentsr of Max Alley (Julie Balefsky), Izzie Alley (Sebastian Strong), Finnegan, and Cassius Goldsmith.
