Mr. Santa Claus visited Sandisfield in December to deliver the news to local kids whether they'd been naughty or nice this year. Being Sandisfield kids, all were adjudged "nice." Here Santa visits with Isla Murray, 6, daughter of Mike and Katie Murray of Town Hill Road. Isla is a first-grader at Farmington River. In his day job, Santa is Jake Blass. (Photo: Maria Ahlin)

What did Santa shout as he came into Fire Station #2 while ringing his sleigh bells?

"Ho! Ho! Ho!"

Dozens of Sandisfield kids were waiting to ask Santa for their most desired Christmas wishes on a cold and snowy Saturday in December. When he arrived they patiently lined up and waited their turn.

Each child got to speak with Santa one on one, and then received an early gift. Lots of smiles and photos were snapped. Many of the children were dressed in festive attire to greet Santa.

Every one of them made the "nice" list this year.

The Rec Committee thanks the Sandisfield Historical Society for organizing the Annual Holiday Fair again this year. There was a great turnout and the Penny Auction to benefit the Sandisfield Scholarship Committee was a great success.

A special thank you to the Sandisfield Fire Department for loaning us the space to host this beloved traditional event. We hope to see everyone again next year.

The Sandisfield Recreation Committee is taking a break for the winter. Please stay in touch for our upcoming Spring/Summer events. To get on our mailing list for information throughout the year and for news of events when we start up again in the spring, please send a note to us at, sandisfieldevents@recreationcommittee.info.
